UPDATE: U2, U3, U4 and U6 now running continuously again
Thanks to the tireless efforts of Wiener Linien employees, all four underground lines affected by the floods were successfully repaired for continuous operation in less than 24 hours. All lines are running continuously again from the start of operations today.
Update on the individual lines:
- U2: continuous service between Schottentor and Seestadt
- U3: continuous service between Ottakring and Simmering
- U4: The test runs were successfully completed in the evening. Continuous service between Heiligenstadt and HĂĽtteldorf will therefore also commence. Due to further work, there will be slow sections between the stations Schottenring and Schwedenplatz as well as between Pilgramgasse and KettenbrĂĽckengasse. These will be cancelled in a few days once the work has been completed.
- U6: The pumping work on the U6 was completed on Wednesday evening. The area affected by the flooding was inspected and checked with several test runs. The line was reopened in the early hours of the morning. This means that the U6 line can now also start continuous operation.
We wish you a good journey with Wiener Linien!
